Where is the part number on the proportioning valve?

I'm trying to see if I have the correct proportioning valve on my car for my 1LE setup. I understand it should be 10164112, as the brakes are from a 92 Camaro.

I can't see a part number on the valve anywhere. Does anyone know where it is located?

Thanks!

No part number as I recall. Check the following link for part numbers and general info on the swap.

The so-called 1LE valves, 89-92, are metric. Your 84 is likely SAE, which will cause you fitment issues.

Re: Where is the part number on the proportioning valve?

Thanks for the reply. The swap was done about 10 years ago by my dad who is a mechanic, but then the car sat for a while. Unfortunately we aren't sure if we swapped the proportioning valve or not.

The brakes have not been good since the swap. I can't come even close to locking them up, and this is a four wheel disc setup with the large 1LE rotors. I initially thought it was due to low engine vacuum because of my cam. I installed a vacuum canister but that didn't seem to help, so that leads me to believe it is the PV.

Is there any way to identify visually which PV I have on there?

Thanks again.

If the combination valve is from an 84, it'll probably be cast iron (with different ports) rather than the alum block style from later cars.

If the car was originally four-wheel disc, you shouldn't have to change the combination valve for 1LE fronts.
