Rookie having loads of trouble.
Hey TGO, I'm having a lot of trouble with the rear brake hardlines on the car I'm attempting to get back to running condition. The first issue came when the passenger rear fitting was seized, and I rounded and ruined it even with a flare wrench + PB blaster and now I've found that the front-rear hardline fitting to the center-rear hose is also seized, and its really getting on my nerves, especially as I have no experience with this sort of thing. My real question now is what should I do from here? Replace all of the rear hardline? (the rear axle hardline, and possibly the front-rear line unless someone here can just tell me the fitting size and I'll see about cutting it and attempting a flare) I already have replacement steel braided hoses which is the whole reason I undertook trying to work with the brake system but now I'm just getting agitated.

Re: Rookie having loads of trouble.
Use vice grips on those old stuck fittings. Tighten vise grips down real good, so you have to use both hands to close/lock them, but be sure you are not crushing the fitting.
The fitting going into the rear wheel cylinder or caliper is a 10mm x 1.00

I managed to get the fittings off, but I have some more questions about the brake line. Just to clarify, it has disc brakes all around, but I'm not really knowledgeable about brake lines at all. I see that you say its 10mm x 1.00, but would that be with an ISO Bubble flare or what? I tried to just order them premade online but I was having problems with the company shipping them so now I'm stuck using O'reillys or Autozone, and I'd like to purchase them premade.

BTW, you have J65 brakes. In your case, at the rear your car should have PBR's, aka performance or 1LE brakes.

Thanks James, I was curious about the lines on Finelines, I see that they have a "standard brakes" for 1984-1992, but then a J65 set for 89-91, and I'm assuming that there wasn't much of a change for the 91-92 model year, and that thats the set I would want, is that correct?
