Drum brake star wheels, need help

Hello dear reader

I need help in rebuilding my rear drum brakes (type see picture) on a 1988 model. I'm got lost which star wheel goes to which side of the car. Left-handed thread driver or passenger side?

I tried searching but got no usefull results.

Thank you for your help.

Interesting.
2 things I noticed in your pic, 1 good & 2 bad:
1) good you got the smaller primary shoe in front
2) bad the star adjuster lock lever is not engaging the star wheel. This may be a key to your solution?
3) bad that the parking brake lever is not protruding through the top left hole on the primary (left) shoe.

Thanks for your quick answer.

Sorry, I should have mentioned: I pulled the pic from google just for reference. These are not my actual brakes. I just need to be sure if the star wheel I built in is on the correct side with this type of brake.

Re: Drum brake star wheels, need help

The star wheels should be positioned such that as the adjusting lever moves downward, the threads screw outward. (lengthen)
