Need to change your brake cylinders? *Be Advised*

Just a word of caution to those who are changing the brake cylinders on your car(s). The flare on the cylinders sold at Autozone are too shallow to accommodate our male brake fitting.

This is the original broken cylinder that was on my car. Note how deep the flare goes.

This is the new cylinder sold to me from Autozone, as you can see the flare is obviously more shallow not allowing the brake fitting to screw in.

THIS is the part you DO want, fit perfectly; installed in less that 30 minutes.

I learned this the hard way & it took me 2 days searching the internet & traveling to independent parts stores to find out this information and get the right part. Good luck.

two words to never say . "china" and "auto-zone". its getting to the point that we cant buy "exact" parts . all we have is parts made with the mentality of "ah, thats close enough ". having run into this exact problem ,countless times . its to the point that i now have to tell my customers , i warranty the WORK not the parts.

These parts are getting worse and worse, even for your "professional" technician...
In my job, I lean towards dealer parts since they're usually 'in-spec'. These F***in parts houses sell absolute garbage. Hell, I wouldn't mind if the metal was made in China IF THE SPEC'S WERE CORRECT. But they're not...
BTW, don't just trash AZ. CQ and AA are buying the same junk from a common supplier. Also, if it's rebuilt it's probably from Mex...

Rock Auto is our only hope?

Napa caries the Napa Ultra Premium Brand as there top of the line.
I bought all of my front break parts with this brand and even though it says U.S.A. on this part in the link mine were made in Mexico and China.
