Rear GTA wheels on the front after LS1 brake upgrade

I have a question about Switching the rear and front GTA wheels after upgrading to LS1 front brakes. Can someone corroborate what has been said in this quote from Mike_c?

The track width is increased the width of the rotor, about .22 to .25 inches

i run rears on all 4 corners of my car- with the matching fronts on my T Type- and other than needing to make some 3/16" spacers to clear the LS1 calipers on the front i have had no issues with clearance and it it looks right.

So the t types and the grand nationals had the same wheels as the GTA's?
Do you have any pictures of your car? Any pictures of the clearance on the inside of the wheel? Are you using spacers on the rears?

No they did not - they had Buick specific 15" wheels. The GNX had 16" wheels from the TA (in black).

But it is an easy upgrade since the 15" wheels on the GN were sloppy handlers.

the GNX had the same style of wheel as the GTA, but with different backspacing. they put the bigger wheels on that car because they were going to adapt the Corvette 12" disc brakes but that got shelved due to production costs. it would have been the only G body ever built to not have shitty brakes..
