Brake booster ?s

I am going nuts on this car. Reassembly every piece i touch is got a little modifications here and there.
I am working on putting the brake booster back in. When i went to install the push rod between the booster and master looked a little short. I pulled it out and its been cut. I have no clue why it would have been shortened. So I am looking for anyone that know what the proper length should be. Also there are not a lot of 3rd gens in the yard. Can i use the rod out of a 4th gen with my stock booster and master cylinder? If not that does anyone know where i can get just the push rod. I am not being cheap but I am trying to put things back together to focus on things that are bad and saving money on things that are fine.

Push rod is not interchangeable between 4th gen and 3rd gen. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/brak...ml#post4880604

Easiest path (and possibly only path) is to get a brake push rod from a junkyard. I have no idea if/where new are sold. The correct length of pushrod is the length that produces about 0.020" gap between rod and master plunger when at rest. http://www.mpbrakes.com/techtalk/how...r-cylinder-gap

It might be a good idea to just source a rebuilt booster. The rebuilt booster should already come with the push rod installed.
