Different front hoses for left and right?
I find this hard to believe that Chevy would use two different brake lines for the front left vs front right but that's what I'm showing on the Dorman site. Just want to replace the lines. Is this the case or is their database messed up?

Re: Different front hoses for left and right?
I purchased 2 different lines for my '89. I noticed there is a bracket attached to the strut that holds the line in place (where your steel brake line meets the rubber / stainless brake line to the caliper) where a "washer" acts like a key to clip it in place.
I am probably horrible at explaining this, but I did notice there was a difference between driver and passenger with those "keys".
If you need part #'s for the lines, just let me know.. I'll have to check my purchases.

Yes they are different because of the clip where the line attached to the strut. I don't see why its such a big deal?

Re: Different front hoses for left and right?
Thanks. It wouldn't be but I got the left and right from two different sources apparently and the left was a nice new chrome colored metal while the other was a "dirty" looking brass color. One had brass washers, the other didn't. Both were not used though. Anyway, I'll sort it out. Thanks!

They're mirror images.
Why WOULDN'T GM use 2 different ones?
(unless of course it was the crappy 82-88 rear disc system where one caliper is in front of the wheel and one is behind

Re: Different front hoses for left and right?
I noticed today that my passenger side brake line seems stretched out to the point where I wonder if it's pinching. Can someone show a picture of the brake line on the passenger side. I wonder if I have mine is mixed up with the drivers. I'm going to order a new one but gm was wondering what length I need.
What's the length on the passenger?

That's just a cover for preventing abrasion, shouldn't matter.
You want the short hoses, the longer ones were for 1LE brakes.
