Hey guys, I've got a 4th gen 3 channel rear in my car currently. I'm looking to swap in a 4 channel 4th gen rear (to reduce gear ratio). Question is: can I swap my 3 channel hardlines onto the 4 channel rear to avoid cutting/flaring brake lines?

My 3 channel has calipers mounted towards the rear of the car, while the 4 channel has calipers mounted towards the front of the car.

Any ideas?

 

Hey guys, I got my question above figured out. Just wanted to document it for the next guy.

To convert from 4 channel rear (one brake line to each caliper, used on newer style 4th gen rears) to a 3 channel i used:

ACDELCO P/N 18J289 - brake hose from car side M12 fitting to t block with two M10 bubble flare fittings.

The passenger side caliper brake line comes from the factory with a M10 fitting and the line just needs to be slightly bent to thread into the above brake hose fitting.

The driver side caliper has a M12 fitting (I don't know why) that needs to be changed to a M10 so it will thread into the above brake hose fitting. I chose to have a shop bend me a new line with proper fittings, but you can also just cut off the M12, slide on a M10 and bubble flare the end and be done.

Doing this makes the 4 channel rear a direct bolt in to your thirdgen!
