rear cylinders removal

first off let me start by saying i noticed a squeal in the rear every time i applied brakes. i removed my drums on both sides thinking my shoes were bad and discovered the shoes were pretty much brand new. the shoes were greasy on the driver side so im thinking the cylinder is leaking. i put my finger by the piston and got brake fluid so the driver side wheel cylinder needs replacing. i looked at the passenger side and its all clean no grease/grime

every cylinder i have done in the past had 2 bolts holding it in but since i have never done brakes on a third gen. i do not see any bolts and i keep reading about a special clip that hold it on, where is the clip that holds it on? how does it come out without the J tools? is this gonna be a PITA job?

Re: rear cylinders removal

Either google a replacement wheel cylinder and you'll see the clip in the photo, or just buy one at the parts store. It's snapped around the wheel cylinder, you really cant miss it.

Getting it off is like any other one time use clip. Pry the stupid thing out with an old screwdriver, or whatever. The clip and the wheel cylinder are trash, so as long as you dont destroy the backing plate...
