LS1 parking brake cable find

I was doing allitle messing around at autozone and i made a discovery....91 camaro parking brake cables (disk) fit the ls1 brake conversion, https://m.autozone.com/brakes-and-traction-control/brake-cable/brakeware-brake-cable-c1647/912474_898912_12552?location= they are allittle on the short side but they work perfectly, i did have to use some zip ties to keep them out of harms way, but they worked.

I have cables from a 91 and had to modify the lever on the LS1 brakes to get them to work. Or you can mod the end. They do not fit every car though. For my 85 the cables were to short. I had to modify where they hook onto the front cable. Unfortunately there is no one size fits all with brake cables on our cars. Some work some don't. Glad it worked out for you though.

Re: LS1 parking brake cable find

damn i thought i hit the jackpot, dident have to modify anything, the ends sliped right on the only thing left is the equalizer bar in the trans tunnel, i need to let some adjustment out, but the nuts are siezed....waiting for liquid wrench to kick in, but the ends are well within the adjustment range. They are on the short side but they arent strained with the suspention fully lowered (shocks discoed still, finishing up on working on the fuel tank)

well at worst its somthing for people to try at $20 a side insted of paying well over $100 for the aftermarket set

Definitely better than what Hawks wants for a set. Their prices aren't bad for some stuff. I just got a used door sill plate for $40 shipped and it's a nice piece. But some stuff is way out of line!
