Look fine to me. Brand new. Like they've never really done anything at all. Hardly ever even touched a drum.

Adjust them up as high as they'll go and you can still get the drum on over them. Might be surprised at what a difference having rear brakes that work can make.

yea, they don't stop at all. Not sure if it's the wheel cylinders not pushing them out or smt. Had it on jacks and put it in drive, pressed the brake and nothing. Didn't even slow. E brake slows it down though

The rear brakes are operated in two different ways: hydraulically when you press the pedal and mechanically by wire when you pull the e-brake handle.

Remove 1 drum and use 2 large screwdrivers to hold the shoes in while someone gently presses on the pedal. You should see both brake shoes move outwards. I they don't it's the wheel cylinders frozen from corrosion. it looks like a new brake job with new springs should have replaced wheel cylinders especially if they are old.

Yes everything looks new. i just recently bought the car so don't know if they replaced the wheel cylinders. They wrote mileage on there (~40k kms ago it was redone). I will try that next, thank you

Make sure the brake adjusters are on the correct side. If they are on the wrong side, every time you back you car up and brake, the shoes will adjust away from the drum.

I actually fixed the problem. Seems the proportioning valve wasn't working correctly. That and the drums were glazed.
