Re: New pics infront of the new winery

I used simple green, I just peeled a lil at a time spry simpl green, let it sit, peel-spray-sit. It took everything off, make sure you have some old sheets to cover your seats, door panels, ect. Plus it smelled clean for a few days after that...lol, if all else fails the good ole hair dryer works, but it takes some time.

I'll buy some of that also, i went to a tint shop and they quoted me $120 just to remove it, but one of the guy's pulled me aside and told me that that's what they did to take the tint, off, it took time but didn't mess up the rear defroster..

Re: New pics infront of the new winery

You can also use those green scrub pads the ones you use on pots & pans to take off stuck & burnt food. It won't mess up your rear defrost & it cleans the windows really nice. If you do it yourself I suggest to remove the door panels so they wont get soaked. The hatch is gonna be a PITA if you dont have a garage, cause the sun sucks when you have to look up with no shade. Then when its all done just let her sit in the sun fr an 1hr. to air & dry it out. Sometimes you might get lucky & peel it rite off, & just gotta spry & use the pad to clean off the glue residue. Thats the technique I used on all my cars & it worked perfectly.
What also works if you have one of those self standing steamer things to get the wrinkles out of your clothes, the ones like the infomercial, the hot steam makes it so much easier & cleaner.

Re: New pics infront of the new winery

For the tint's the guy just told me on a hot day (which this weekend it's supose to hit 90 so it sounds perfect) get towels to cover any area that may get wet from windex.. spray the crap outta the back window and cut a black grabage bag to fit the rear window, let sit, and every 30-45min's go respray and after about 2 hours take it off and get a steel wool pad and the rest is just elbow grease, the shop i went to showed me pictures of what the cars looked like before and after with the tint useing that technique so i'm going to do it and hopfully by next week have some pics up with it all off..

and as for the profile of my tires their 235/50/ZR17's...

Re: New pics infront of the new winery

yeah i think a 50 series tire is a bit too tall for 17's. i noticed the profile looked a bit large

any plans to lower it? that would help. nice car tho

Re: New pics infront of the new winery

i've seen pics with slightly lower profile tires and they looked like they really needed to be lowered.. my speedo's still dead on with these, and i like the look, just personal preference i guess.. and i've played with the idea of lowering it.. but i already have scrapeing issues, leaving friends driveway's i already have to be careful backing out, i can only imagine what it'd be like with the car an inch lower

Re: New pics infront of the new winery

it was the factory springs. i live in a town with slightly above average roads. the car scraped every once in a while, but it was just the air dam.

Re: New pics infront of the new winery

Yep, your tires are a little taller than mine, a little more than 1/2". My 89 also has cut WS6 springs (1/2 coil each) and now sits maybe an inch lower than stock in front and 1/2" lower in the rear. It was about 27 1/2" from ground to top of each fender arch prior to cutting. Yours would look good about the same height. My 92 also sits at about this same height, but it has the same size tires as my 89, and very soft worn out springs.

Same wheels from the same vendor 17X8.5, 15mm offset and 245/45/17 Kumho Ecsta AST tires.
