I bought a Wilwood part number 140-11275 disc brake kit a few years ago and paid someone to install. I took my passenger tire off to do some fender work and I noticed one of the wheel studs was loose. I could move it back and forth no problem. I thought it just wasn't pressed in. come to find out its a screw in type, so the threads are shot. my question is do I have to replace the whole wheel hub or can I just put a Heli-Coil in? Also what's the steps to getting the hub off? I don't know anything about brakes and don't want to mess anything up

Take the caliper off. That will allow the disk to come off. Then take the dust cap off the hub to room w the crown nut. You will have a tab or cotter pin to lock in the crown nut. My wilwood calipers are held on different than stock calipers but they do make stock replacements. You may want to post some pics. Also wilwood specs red locktite in spots.

a machine shop could put a helicoil in.

You need to take off the caliper then the rotor should slide off. Don't mess w the rotor to hat bolts, they have red loctite and I think safety wire on the back usually.
