brakes getting stuck on one wheel

so today i took it upon my self to replace all front brakes on my car, but after changing only one combo (pads and rotor) the brakes became stuck. so thinking it would go away after eliminating that it was the promotional valve tripping i went and drove home, noticing the harsh handling and the hard driving, after i pulled up home i notice that the one wheel i changed the breaks on was smoking, so thinking that this is an overwhelming problem, i drove it to my local repair guys shop (who is closed since its night) and parked it there, i to my surprise i could see the disc through the rim and it was RED HOT literally glowing red! i am wondering how deep in s*it i am with the repair guys and what could possibly be wrong
i hope the disc i put on there is okay since it was very pricey
so if any one could help, i would REALLY appreciate it, i stopped after the disc after noticing it being stuck so it has the old breaks on it still, and the master cylinder resivior seems to be filled with a little more break fluid then max amount

i am really desperate here and really desperate for help so any answers truly help

thanks!

Assuming you did the replacement correctly, replace the hoses.

And you never want to change only one wheel at a time. Always do both sides together.

You could have very well warped the rotor. No way to know unless it gets checked for runout. Your problem could be a number of things. Will probably be obvious upon a close visual inspection. Really sounds like this should have been left to someone who knows what they are doing. This is something that's fairly easy to do but potentialy deadly if done wrong.
Sounds like your friend isn't the person to take automotive advise from either btw. And it's spelled brakes, easily discernable from breaks as a quick glance to the top of this page would indicate your in the BRAKES forum. And that valve, it's your proportioning valve. It doesn't promote anything.

sorry it was very late into the night and i was tired

the rotor is indeed warped now just to say from what my mechanic says

so just got a call from the mechanic, it is from what he said warped and the reason he said was my friend put the rotor in wrong, now i feel hes shaking my chain since at first glance it goes in only one way i don't know if he means the caliper, (if that's that can even go in wrong too)
so advice is really appreciated
thanks!

Re: breaks getting stuck on one wheel

First, I was also told years ago and now tell my boyz if they do brakes and are not sure on that model to do one side at a time meaning you have the other side for a reference if confused but you still do them in the same day. Now my boyz 87 front right stuck and heated up to were it was smokeing so he replaced just the calipers and pads (told him to change it all cause yes heating the rotor's up that hot will warp them) and it still heated up. So yesterday I replaced the rotors, bearings and seal since its apart and the little extra cost a person should put new in and not use the old bearings reese and seal. Don't see how you could put them together and on wrong as long as you pay attention on how it came apart. Might want to ask them how they were on wrong? Took it for a ride and seemed okey but had to pump pedal once to get them firm so waiting for kid to come home sat from his moms to bleed them should be ok but if not I'll do the line's next.
