Does anyone have some quality pictures of how to modify the 3rd gen spindle for LS1 brackets?
There are several how to's on google and in here, but none have any decent pictures to actually see where the cuts need to be made.
Search for Lsxmatt on youtube. He's got over 100 videos, and one of them from about 5 years ago is a complete LS1 front brake upgrade installation, including cutting and modifying the spindles.
Edit: It's on his Trans Am, not his Camaro, but both are blue. Didn't want you or anyone to get confused if searching through his videos.

if anyone has any good pics, please post them up.
I know I will be torched... but... I am in the middle of a LS1 brake upgrade. A certain website sells LS1 cutom steering knuckles that delete the spindle and use a GM stock wheel hub. LS1 brakes bolt on. PM me for details.
I just did mine. What kind of info do you need? If you buy from Big Brake upgrade Scott sends you the PDF files. The brackets look different in the pictures, but the write up is the same.
Thanks for this link, it's actually much less involved than I thought it would be. This makes more sense vs hacking off the spindle and using a bolt-on hub.
I went with the counter sunk hole option, which requires a little bit less tap work. Overall you have to cut quite a bit off. I opted to modify my dust shields, but it looks like most just toss them.

Re: Spindle Modification request
Seems like I remember one of the big brake upgrade companies would take your spindles and modify them to whichever flavor of big brake upgrade you were doing on a milling machine and could even clean them up and have them powder coated too for a reasonable price.
