86 IROC FS or Trade in Norfolk, VA
I really need a big and comfortable driver, so I'm willing to sell or trade my 86 IROC. I'll consider a trade for the following (must be clean, well-maintained and very reliable): Crown Vic/Grand Marq/Town Car, Buick LeSabre or Century. Preference is for the Grand Marq. Prefer fuel injected and built after 1980.
A few pics of my IROC are located at the link below (engine bay now has functional AC in it) from within the last couple years. It looks identical today If you're interested I can get you more recent pics. The cabin got bleached out in the pic...the black/red color contrast is more rich in real life. Seat covers are only there to cover the blue 80s Cavalier seats underneath, no tears or major stains, just an odd color. I removed the driver side cover and stuffed the seat with batting to make it softer.

This is a great car and I love it but I need a better commuter. I have worked hard on her for 3.5 years to get her tuned and efficient. It's been my daily driver for that time and very reliable during the past 2 years (and seriously babied during that time) and a lot of good work has been done to it. If you're interested and can do local/nearby pickup, I'll send you a list of all I've done and what I know needs attention (or may need attention) in the near future. I want to do an honest transaction. Asking $3,600 cash or otherwise guaranteed funds.
You can email me at: blueridgeoil@hotmail.com if you're interested or have a legitimate trade. thanks.

I forgot to mention it's a 305 TPI, auto. Motor runs beautifully and drivetrain is rock solid. Here's a good summary of what I've done to it in the 3.5 years I've owned it. Also, I've never raced it or abused it. I've never pushed it to do a fraction of what it's capable.
*B&M Megashifter
*"new" used seats from an 80s Cavalier (virtually identical to thirdgen seats, no rips or tears, color is light blue and I use seat covers for that reason). Driver side seat has extra batting in it to make it softer.
*Grant steering wheel
*New KYB Gas a Just shocks in rear (installed last spring)
*New KYB AGX 4-way adjustable front struts (installed last spring)
*New strut mounts
*Fairly new alternator (in last year or so)
*Oil/filter changed religiously every 2-3k miles with conventional
*Replaced EGR valve (one of my first jobs on it)
*Replaced smog pump (one of my first jobs)
*Replaced lower radiator hose (first jobs...)
*New OEM spec thermostat in last year
*New AC Delco water pump in last six months
*Replaced IAC valve (first jobs...)
*New coil, cap and rotor in past six months
*New ignition module in past few months
*New Delco Rapidfire spark plugs in past six months or so. Improved throttle response and fuel economy a bit.
*235/60/15 Cooper Cobras all around, 2-3 years old. Very good condition, plenty of tread left. Always rotated on schedule. NOTE: IROCS came with 16" wheels, but the previous owner(s) installed 15"s on this car, probably for the lower cost of new tires. This car IS an IROC...I checked the RPO codes on the center console label and matched up the VIN on that label with the car VIN.
*Reset TPS to correct voltage
*Fairly new MAF sensor
*New tranny fluid and filter in past year or so.
*Tranny was rebuilt by previous owner. Shifts perfectly. I think he had Corvette servos installed on the rebuild, so it's a sportier transmission than some, but still a driver's tranny.
*AC installed two summers ago and blows cold.
*T-tops professionally sealed by a local shop and do not leak.
*Fairly new stereo unit/CD player installed. Nothing fancy, but plays music just fine.
*Replaced heater core two years ago. Heat is HOT.
*New upper driver side door hinge installed professionally.
*Mostly new weather stripping (for the t-tops and windows. doors still need new seals but the only problem there is wind noise)
*Fairly new aluminum radiator in great shape (previous owner installed)
*Fairly new radiator cap
*Rear differential lube change within last two years.
*Replaced rear axle oil seal on driver side.
*K&N air filters.
*Gutted air box for better breathing. Still have stock air box with baffles.
*Driver side front brake caliper replaced when I bought it.
*New air dam last summer.
*Repainted center console plastic black so it looks clean and not dull.
*New windshield in past couple years.
*New cooling fan motor (installed 2/8/08)
*New rag joint in past 8 months.
