1984 CAMARO Z-28 FOR THE COLLECTORS OUT THERE
1984 CAMARO Z-28 FOR THE COLLECTORS OUT THERE
For Sale: 1984 Camaro Z-28 $33,000 Call 401-474-3976 for pics and more information.
GM’s factory converted Camaro Z-28 Stiletto Convertible. This is a sharp looking VERY RARE custom 1984 convertible, 2-seater conversion.
For the years 1982, 1983, 1984 convertible Camaros, Firebirds and Z-28s were not being manufactured. But dealer research found a definite need for them in the marketplace. So GM hired a company called Auto Form based in Elkhart, Indiana and owned by Mark Beal to customize these cars directly for GM. Each dealer had an option to send out one of their pre-ordered camaro’s to auto form for the the spectacular convertible conversion. Most would opt to send out primarily due to cost the Berlinetta models. Which of course is a more scaled down model with a lot less performance and cost than their high powered Z-28’s
I haven’t been able to find any data on the # of Z-28s that were converted compared to other models but I also haven’t found another one available ANYWHERE. Any information that might be available ? I would love to hear from you.
This beautiful ONE OWNER example of their work has been kept in absolute pristine condition and nearly 100% factory. All paperwork and brochures are available. The only changes made were an updated stereo and a mobile car phone install from 1985. During the order process of this beautiful car, GM would leave their factory Z-28 wheels which at the time “just felt wrong” says Steve the one original owner. I just felt it needed a little more to separate it from the rest. Steve opted for a set of beautiful Riken racing rims that added just the right look for this stunning Z-28.
This car has been babied since its purchase and has just under 47,000 miles on it. It has never seen rain, snow or any type of bad weather. A climate controlled garage has been its home for all of its 27 years. All regular maintenance has been done to keep this car in perfect mechanical working order. Powered by a 5.0 liter engine and an automatic transmission.
Please call Bob for pics and more information at 401 474-3976.

Bob,
Maybe you should have let 'Steve' join this board and for his debut post, offer up some more of his recollections of this "VERY RARE" purchase.

The 84 IROC is hands down, my favorite fbody of all time. Coming in a close second & third respectively, are the 2004 Camaro SS and the 2008 Trans AM WS6

It happens no worries. I always get a photobucket account. Then upload my pics. Copy the IMG code and post in the thread. And that will give you nice big pics on the thread.

Same
Also reminiscing on what 33k could get you in 2011, could probably get two clean thirdgens with 47,000 miles at that price.

They do exist! I Have a 1984 Z28 IROC Auto Form Roaster, v8, 5 speed. I even issued the # on the drivers inside door to the guy on this web site who wanted to get everyone who has an Auto form conversion to post it on his site. Go see it.

I think you have a 1984 auto-form Z28. Perhaps someone put IROC decals on it.
