What is the "big 3" wiring upgrade?

 

Big 3 is a car audio term and refers to the 3 main wires for the charging system. Positive Alternator to battery, negative battery to chassis ground, and negative alternator case/engine to chassis ground.

Larger car audio systems will put a strain on the electrical system and upgrading these wires to a much larger gauge helps relieve this strain. No more headlight dimming. This upgrade is done along side the factory wires, which are still in place. My car didnt need the upgrade, but I did it with future plans of putting in a much larger amplifier and subs. These 3 wires can be easily removed and wont effect the way the car runs one bit.

 

Ok, have never heard the term before. As I'm a 4th gener looking to go 3rd, was thinking it might be a 3rd gen thing.
