1982 Camaro Berlinetta Drag/Sleeper (NW Los Angeles Area)
1982 Camaro Berlinetta located in NW Los Angeles area. Car was originally an LG4 V8 TH200 car but currently has a 400 small block with SLP T-Ram, full manual TH350 with trans brake, and 9-Bolt Borg Warner rear axle with 3.70 limited slip. The car has been stored for the better part of the last several years as DMV non-operational as it has been left behind by several other projects. The car has been stored in an indoor garage so the lot rot is relegated to minor leaks from the radiator, engine, trans, rear axle, and brakes.
The car has sentimental value but I am not delusional as I understand it isn't a desirable, rarity such as a TTA or SLP Firehawk. In fact it's a tad dated in the current world of LS swaps and probably worth more for burgeoning classic speed parts. The car does needs some TLC. I will not part it out but I'm not going to give it away either as it has desirable parts. If you're interested please PM me.
- 400 small block 4-bolt main with 1st-gen Trick Flow aluminum heads, Crane hydraulic roller cam (.509/.528 valve lift), approx. 10.4 compression, stock 400 crank and rods
- Uncut SLP T-Ram with Ford 30 lb/hr injectors running speed density with 730 ECM
- Late small-cap HEI with MSD-6AL ignition box.
- Custom made 1-3/4" OD shorty headers with AIR pump tubes dumping into custom made true dual-cat 2-1/2" full length exhaust with turbo mufflers in the stock location.
- 89-92 dual electric fans on custom top mount with old Griffin aluminum radiator that leaks from sitting and probably needs to be replaced.
- TH350 full manual shift with trans brake. If I remember correctly the torque converter is around 2200 rpm stall.
- 9 Bolt Borg Warner rear axle with drum brakes and 3.70 limited slip. I also have 3.27 and a fairly rare 3.45 gear set.
- Line-lock, subframe connectors, Lakewood rear drag control arms, custom torque arm mount on trans crossmember, drag racing coil springs and shocks in the front, drag racing shocks in rear.
- Stock 14" gold Berlinetta wheels with old, old BF Goodrich tires on the front and Hoosier 26-9.5-14 Quicktime Pro DOT slicks screwed to the rear.
- Factory A/C-delete heater box (getting to be kind of rare now). I removed but still have the factory A/C evaporator/heater box.
- Body is stock. Color is factory silver-gray with charcoal rockers. Paint is faded but relatively presentable. I would characterize the car as a sleeper.
- Interior is medium gray carpet with dark-gray seats. I would characterize the condition as fair to good.
- Spare/extra parts such as the aforementioned 9-Bolt gears, tail light lenses, custom exhaust manifolds, new but uninstalled roll bar
