Big Block Chevy Nova SS Trade for Third Gen
Big Block Chevy Nova SS Trade for Third Gen
I have a 1973 Chevy Nova SS that I am interested in selling or trading:
The engine is a 454 bored .060 over. It has been decked and had the crank turned .010. Pistons are Keith Black domed and the compression is around 9.2. The heads are cast heads off of a 1970 454 Corvette. They have been decked, new valve job, springs, and pocket ported. The Camshaft is a Comp Cams extreme energy with hydraulic lifters. The intake manifold is an Edelbrock RPM Air Gap. The carburetor is a Holley Ultra-Double pumper 850 cfm with an electric choke. Everything on the engine is new with the exception of the alternator which came off the donor engine. The radiator is a new aluminum radiator. The headers are long tube hooker headers that go into dual Magnaflow exhaust. Starter is a mini high torque starter. The engine has less than 1000 miles on it.
The front suspension has new springs and Lakewood shocks. The front brake pads are new, as are all the front and rear brake lines and hoses.. The master cylinder and brake booster are new. All the front drive tie rod ends are new as well. The front body bushings are new. I also installed a 1" front sway bar.
The transmission is a heavy duty completely rebuilt 700R4 from. It is guaranteed for 2 yrs or 24, 000 miles. It has an aggressive shift kit and a custom 2400-2600 stall converter. The rear end was also done by the transmission shop at the same time and has an Auburn posi-traction with 4:10 gears. This transmission has less than 1000 miles on it. The rear shocks are new Lakewood shocks and the rear leaf springs are new as well. They also installed a large transmission cooler up by the radiator.
The interior was completely redone. The carpet is new as is the dash pad and the dash has been repainted. The seats were professionally re-upholstered in vinyl and tweed.. He also padded and upholstered the door panels in the front and back to match. It is a beautiful job.
The body is in OK shape with some rust on the lower part of the doors, 2 push-outs on the quarter panels, and some on the hood. It needs a new hood as I cut the current so the air filter would fit. No paint or body work has been done yet. Stereo and speakers are not installed, so no radio. I have tucked the front bumper.
Just drove the car to Phoenix and back. Absolutely no problems cruising at 75 on the highway. The trade fell through due to a sticky accelerator (fixed by adjusting throttle cable) and heat coming in to cabin (fixed by blocking the hole where the heater core is.
I am a huge third gen fan and would love to trade straight across for a TPI Camaro (prefer 350) in good shape. email or call me at 575 652 1477. Pics at http://lascruces.en.craigslist.org/cto/2571053149.html. Thanks!!
