Hey all! I just joined the site and thought I would introduce myself, give a little history about myself and my car, and post some pics.
I got my first third-gen when I was 15. It was a beat up, rusty '82 Z28. I am 27 now and have always had a third-gen. First the '82 Z28, then a '86 Firebird, '87 Firebird, and now my '91 Z28. I have had my '91 since '98.
In that time I have swapped the 305 TPI for a 350, added a host of bolt-ons including complete MSD ignition, B&M strip shift kit to the tranny, Eibach sportline springs with KYB shocks and struts, polygraphite bushings and transmission mount, DuPont Chromalusions color shifting paint, 18 inch TSW Montage rims, 4000 watt Audiobahn stereo system with DVD player and 2 screens, full Edelbrock exhaust (headers and cat-back), and more.
All work, including bodywork and paint, was done by me, my Dad and my cousin. Currently I am finishing the interior and plan on installing a new rear-end with disc brakes (hopefully a 12 bolt) soon. After that will be a ATI Procharger followed by new heads and some day a stroker kit.

Nice looking car! I'm from your neck of the woods. If I ever get a car done we should get a cruise together.

Re: New Member!
Thanks fellas. Doing that paint job was a winter long project of driving it to work (I used to work in a body shop) with just the bare essentials to keep it street legal everyday, stripping it back down after work, working on it til 10 or 11 at night, putting it back together, and driving it home. Then getting up at six to go back to work and doing it all over again. It was a long a$s winter doing that every day, for about 4 months. In the end it was worth it tho.

Is it me or is the emblem on the grill changing colors too?
I gotta take pics of my mom Camaro. It's black with a perlescent(spellcheck) purple.

The chevy emblem by the fog lights? Yep that changes too. Along with the plastic trim on the door panels, the trim around the radio, the trim inside the the gauge cluster, and some other stuff

I've seen a few vehicles with house of kolor changing paint, but this one seems to be much more drastic in its changes... very interesting. Its very blue/purple dominant. I'm used to seeing the red/bronze color dominant paint schemes. The blue looks very cool.

It is DuPont Chromalusion, not House of Kolor. Dupont has several different variations, some are red/bronze, some are green/purple. Mine does all the colors, that were available at the time.

Re: New Member!
well done! I think the cap to your car would be tinted tails. the red on the back stands out, and with tinted (not blacked out) tails the look would be complete. it would play off the black wheels. again freaking sweet car.

Re: New Member!
Tinted tails isnt a bad idea. The easist obviously would be blacked out covers. I have actually considered the slotted tail shields and then painting them to match. I think that would look real nice.
BTW: The Mustang is my winter car. If I have to let the salt rot something out, it is going to be a Ford!

The color changing paint looks great on some cars, but.....the camaro is not one of those. If I saw that driving down the road I would hope to get a good look at the driver because that is definetely a chicks car.

Re: New Member!
All a matter of opinion. lol. I would personally love to have the exact same paint on a Camaro. Maybe a slightly different variation in color, but purple would be the dominant hue. I love the Hawaiin Orchid paint that the Camaro came with in 92... this is just an amazing plus from that. lol.
