these cars have got to be cursed
yes another third gen smashed up what a ****in surprise, anyway heres my story i was driving up the road minding my own business coming to a spot where side road joins on to the main road (im on the main road) and some genius in a silverado tries to go across my lane to get on the other side of the road when im roughly 10 feet away from him, and to make things better it was raining, so needless to say i nailed him. all i heard was a little squeal from my brakes then bang then alot of profanity on my part. anyway the car still runs normally i think it was towed home after the accident and i haven't got out at it yet cuz its still raining and i need to leave it for the insurance company to look at anyway. as of right now it only looks cosmetic and i pray it is but if it isnt theres a nice trans am for sale not far from here
but still i love my car and this really sucks

The insurance guy is probably gonna mark it for salvage, a guy we have working for us rear ended a guy in our 93 Safari van, it was a grill, 2 headlight buckets, and a radiator support and they gave us 4000 for the van, and the stickers.. So you'll most likely get the money.. They find it cheaper that way..

That really sucks to hear.
Seems like nicer your car looks, the more that the idiots take chances and cut you off.
They must figure you will always do your best to avoid them.

Re: these cars have got to be cursed
thats definatly repairable.. just 'inflate' the value of the car when talking to the insurance guy, they can usually be presuaded to repair a car if it is 'close' on repair price or payout.

Re: these cars have got to be cursed
. It definitly looks repairable. A fender, a hood (upgrade!
) and a front clip/bumper and it looks like you may be in business. Although im sure theres more damage than that, it doesn't look too major. Good luck! Senior Member

Re: these cars have got to be cursed
the insurance adjuster is commin on monday so ill know whats happening then and the hood will most likely be a cowl hood nothing to aggressive just 2-3" and if my bumper cover is messed up ill probably go with a 92 aero kit all around (not really decided on that yet) as of right know i looked underneath and everything looks straight and its not leaking anything i cant good a good look because the hood wont open and im not gonna touch it till its been looked at by the company anyway whatever happens ill keep everyone up to date
----------
also to let everyone know when i got up this morning i went to the doctor and turns out i got some serious whiplash ive got 3 prescriptions for pills and a prescription for massages so ill have a bit more cash to spend
although it might take a while for the personal injury claim

Bummer
I would check for damage around the bumper mount and the driver's side frame by the steering box.
I hope it works out for you!!

Re: these cars have got to be cursed
these are the front and back of the headlight bracket the second one is kinda hard to see but if you look almost right in the middle of the pic you can see something is broken off these are cell phone pics so the quality is kinda shitty

Re: these cars have got to be cursed
i heard from the insurance today (finally) and they say shes a write off
but its not that bad cuz there gonna give me $2500 with the option to buy it back for $100 and if i fix it myself its only gonna cost probably $1000 which leaves me with some extra for upgrades
so really the only thing that suffers is the tittle and my car will be lookin better then ever so it worked out pretty good in the end
