which do u guys think would hit harder, an MTX 15" or 2-12" Rockford Fosgate Punch Z's? Its gotta fit into the back drop of my firebird... so that depends on room and stuff. Thats why im asking opinions, Thanks

 

2 12's have a greater cone area = louder.

BUT, which mtx sub are you considering? the Z series is the bottom RF sub so it won't have much throw to it, if you go with 1 15" MTX of their better subs, it may end up with more ouput due to a larger X-max....maybe.

Subs are just like engines, no replacement for displacement.

 

in my opinion it depends on what kind of bass you like, my personal opinion is I like the sound that 15s put out, I got one 15 MTX thunder3000 and it pounds plenty hard for me, its in a trunk tho. Different subs hit different frequencies. The box is not carpeted yet, but its sealed and solid!
