there is someone on this site that has 6.5 coax's in the place of the 6x9's. But to mount them he used plexiglass, which I think is a very interesting idea. He said he had a hard time learning the correct way to cut it tho. good luck

get some bass blockers on them... then put some dynamat behind the speakers on the metal frame... I did that and it worked a LOT.. they rattle and distort cuz they are trying 2 push those LOW frequncies... my comp set was doing that in the kick panels up front and i hated it... then i put bass blockers on them... i think 100hz... but u still get bass.. just not the LOW stuff... and it helped out A LOT... no more rattles

Its probally not the metal of the car most likely be you pannels, play some music with some good low notes and find out where its comming from and use some pieces of foam between where its making noise. And for your 6x9's get some foam woofer gaskets and put it around the back of the speaker. You can also get a capacitor like what CD MaroMan 91 said but try it out it will solve some of your rattleing problems but you will lose some of the bass.

Yep. Get back there and look for where excatly the rattle is coming from and target the excact spot. I've used weatherstripping from Home Depot before to stop rattles so once you find the spot just get something between the two points that are making the noise.
