outside rattling
I was walking around my car listening to the rattling that you hear outside and heard 3 main spots, the license plate, bumper, and winshield wipers. I got the license plate rattling stopped by putting carpet on the back of the license plate, but how do I stop the rattling from the bumper and the winshield wipers? Also, what are some of the other places you have problems with rattling on the outside/inside. I want to upgrade to an Alpine system, and want to dynomat all the troublesome places. Thanx for any info.
pretty much you stop rattling by damping it, like what you did with the carpet. I'm am going to be pulling almost ALL of my interior and using some of that rockford noise kill spray. I like that better than dynomat because it isn't as thick.

The sprays don't work nearly as well as dynamat because they aren't nearly as dense.
But anyway... spray or dynamat will reduce or possibly eliminate the rattling of the panels and license plate, but there really isn't much you can do about the wipers. I've never heard of wipers rattling. There isn't anything on the wiper itself that can really do much, and if you have sufficient spring pressure they shouldn't vibrate off the glass. The best suggestion I can offer is to isolate the specific part of the wiper that's making the noise, and just use some creative thinking to try to stiffen or add mass to that part.
