Remember that Free stuff I said I had, well it started smoking. Pics of the amp......
Well I spent $170.00 on the speakers with a amp kit. Got a freind to get it from a warehouse at a whole sale price. The amp my Mom found at a garage sale, she gave it to me for free. Me and my Brother wired up the car. Since I have a stock stereo we wire the remote lead to the ignition fuse. Well I turned the key then came back to the amp and noticed that the power light wasnt on.
So I played around with the high, low, full switch and a minute later the power light came on.
Cool.....
Then the amp started smoking! I switch the ignition off and disconnected the power. When I opened the amp up this is what I found.
>well atleast I still have the speakers.

Chances might be good that only the mosfet burnt up. It took me a while to find replacement mosfets for my Fosgate 60.2 amp, but I dug 'em up. Do a ton of net searches, and here's a tip- NTE has a crossreference # for just about everything. You might not find a Motorola 3290519461094q anymore, but there might be an NTE Z58q which is an exact equivilant. There's a few NTE cross-reference programs out there that might be helpful, if you can find 'em. Mine was called ntecross.zip ...
