Wiring me Alpine Type-R
For those who have followed this with me (mainly CAMp3RO), I have sold my Xplod subs for a total of $210
, which I will receive at the end of this month, or early next month. When I get the money, I'm going to get 1 Type-R 12" for now, and later add another one (hopefully). When I get this 1 sub, I want to wire it for as much power possible. I have a 2-channel Xplod amp which is pushing 380x1 Bridged RMS and 760x1 bridged. How would I wire the DVC Type-R for maximum power w/o blowing it, if that's even possible with this amp. Any explanations/diagrams are helpful and appriciated. If you need more info bout the amp for some reason, tell me and I'll get it to ya. Thanx again.

With your sub it should come with a diagram of all the different wiring options. Is your sub a dual 4 ohm or dual 2 ohm voice coil set up?

It should be the 4-ohm sub, but it hasn't came in yet. And the xplod amp works for now until I save enough money to get a Rockford amp. If it fry's, its under warranty and they'll fix/give me a new one. but ya, it doesn't push near what they say, im sure.

You shouldn't have a problem frying the sub with that amp. Considering it is the DVC, the way to get the most power out of it would be to wire it in parallel. The way you would do this would be to run the positive on the amp to the positive on one voice coil, and the run the negitive from the amp to the negitive on the same voice coil (well it doesn't really matter what voice coil but it is easier to explain this way) then run a wire from the positive on one side of the voice coil to the other, and do the same thing to the negitive terminal, and you should be set. I hope this is what you were asking.
