subwoofers

Does anyone know a good pair of subwoofers that can handle 800 watts rms that aren't mad expensive but also don't suck? I know the Alpine type R's are 1000watts peak but the rms is only like 300.

I would have to suggest JL Audio as the best. I just got a set of w0's and a jl 250/1 amp and for the little bit of Amps they really hit. Of course if you wanted something higher rated i would go with the jl w'3 or w6. You could even go for the JL W7. Check out their website for more info...

dont be fooled by a number my friend. my type-r was recieving 300w MAX off my mtx blue thunder pro 752 and it hit pretty hard. remember, its quality that counts in stereo, not quantity. you get a couple of these bad boys, you'll be hitting plenty hard

wait a minute, i agree that the w7 would be great, but after that hefty $1000 a piece for the 13.5 he would be too broke to afford a good amp for them (if he can buy an amp then you can send some of that money my way ) but i think the best thing to do is to go listen to some audiobaun alums 12 and see if you like the way they sound. as for me i am still dreaming about 2 W7 13.5's in my iroc :hail: !!!

The '99 models of Audiobahn have serious problems, the glue they used to hold the cone to the surround broke w/little use. All '00+ models have this defect fixed. Audiobahn will hit hard, really hard if given the right box, I've just never heard one that sounded very clean.

audiobahn alum 12's

I have a set of those Alum12x's for sale. Brand new, left over from 2001, they handle 1000watts. I'll take $250 for them just to get rid of them. Brand new, still in the rapper!
