what position should the input switch be in on amp
what position should the input switch be in on amp
I bought this amp and have no manual. It has a switch that says input R-STEREO-L-R,those are the 3 positions.should it be switched to L-R if Im using RCA from the head unit and using the amp as 35x2,not bridged?
My guess is that the switch controls how the input is to be handled in relation to output.
(R) - the right input would be output to the right channel & left channel, the output would be mono (used when you only have available one input channel)
(STEREO) - the right input would be output to the right channel and the left input would be output to the left channel (the signal would remain stereo if the inputs were stereo)
(R-L) - the right input and the left input would be summed to a mono signal, the output from the right & left channels would be mono
If you don't have a sub stereo/mono control on your headunit then I'd use the (R-L) switch position.
(I've never actually seen a amp with this switch so this is just speculation.)

I would think ths switch on any amp(if it has one) would do the same thing regardless of brand. but its a jbl gts100.input select could only mean one thing, right?

Well by giving us the name of the amp, all of us can do a quick internet search to find out if there's any online documentation. For example, soundstream has all the amp docs on the website. So if I say "help me with my Rubicon 604", we can look at teh same instructions that you have in front of you.
