AudioArt Amp? Any Good? Any other Good 5 or 6 Channel Amps???
I'm redoing my system later this summer but I was looking at that stuff that Carl from caraudioresources.com has up for sale and I saw this AudioArt 340.6XE amp. Here's the specs he sent me.
Specs are as follows...
35 x 4 + 100 x 2 stereo
or
70 x 2 + 200 x 1 bridged
THD %.05
Freq Response 2Hz-100Khz
Signal to Noise Ratio 95dB
Input Sensitivity 200mV - 1V
Bass EQ Freq 30Hz - 100Hz
Bass EQ Gain +/- 18dB
Size 16 1/8 x 2 1/2 x 7 1/4
50-5khz Low/Mid crossover
50-5Khz Mid/High crossover
Crossover slope 12dB/octive
So is this AudioArt any good? Just wondering if anyone has ever used or heard of it before cuz I don't wanna get an amp like "Legacy" or something like that ya know? I'm planning on powering a Polk EX2560 Comp Set and quite possibly a set of 5½ or 6½ speakers in the sail panels, and a 12" Alpine Type-R Sub. So do you think it will power it? If not do you know of any other good 5-Channel or 6-Channel amps that would sound good with my setup or should I just go with a 4-Channel and a 2-Channel amp?
Thanks

Okay, to be fair to the "get what you pay for" posted above, the amp is several years old and used, so $125 seems a fair price...
Now, as far as the amp goes, as I stated in the email, it won't be enough to beat the crap out of your Alpine 12, but it would push it enough for good sound...just don't expect much in the way of SPL.
Now, as I said, I used this amp on some BA Pro 6.5's and a JL 10 and was more than satisfied for sound quality.
Here's AudioArt's web site...http://audioart.net/
Their 6channel section of the web site is not working for some reason, however I believe that retail on this amp when new was in the $600-700 range...
I bought it used 2 years ago.
