Pioneer

has anyone used the pioneer cd deck Pioneer DEH-P77DH? The oversized face for the fbodies, is this deck any good? I like the look of the pioneers and wanted to stay with the GM oversized dash look. I was just looking for input to their output, sound, use etc.
Any advice would be appreciated

Thanx

In general the 1.5 DIN Pioneers are the best 1.5 din aftermarket HUs you can buy. I don't know much about that specific one.

I love the sound quality, and over all style and function of all the Pioneer head-units, but I do tend to think that most aftermarket 1.5din units tend to "stick out like a sore thumb" than the single dins with adapters, but you can't argue with the results!

now if I could just find a 1.5din MP3/CD unit....

I think the exact opposite, the 1.5 dins look so stock compared to the literally ""stick out" like a sore thumb" single din units in adapters.

maybe I should rephrase my previous statement; all of 1.5din units I have ever seen do not match/compliment the interior of any 3rdgen f-body I have ever seen(many of them look rounded and usually feature neon colored highlights/buttons)....I have seen some pretty good looking 1.5din setups in some 4th Gens, and various late-model Chryslers, but with the squared of styling of the 3rdgen I just haven't seen any that really match up, while there is such a wide variety of single din units, you can pretty much find any style you need, I guess maybe I just haven't seen them used in the right places....? I will see if I can dig up some pics to better explain myself

Ah, I understand what you are saying. They don't match, but I think they look much more stock then any non-flush mounted single din unit will. Every adapater kit has the unit sticking out so far it just never looks quite right.
