Interesting idea!! I've always thought 6.5" seperates (well seperates in general) sound way better than coaxals (like 6x9's). For me I just plan to use a 6.5" bracket in my stock 6x9 location and then custom mount the tweeter in the headliner where the seatbelt retractor piece goes (removing the stocks seatbelts for two racing seats with 4 pt harnesses) with one of the swivel tweeter mounting pieces.

I wish Infinity would make a plate setup for 6x9s. The 4x6 plates are a world better than any 4x6 component speaker. I guess it wouldn't be too hard to build one w/a small crossover?

Good luck fitting an upgraded speaker into that box, it has very little extra room for a speaker with bigger magnet, as far as a plate setup for 6x9, our plate that the 6x9's goes in unbolts, just make your own plate and use the 5.25 or 6.5" set, sheesh.....
