What's your opinion on self powered Bazooka tubes?
I'm not looking for a 1 million db system, or bass thats going to shatter my hatch glass, just a nice bass compliment to some very fast paced metal music...
Stuff like:
Fear Factory (very kicking and fast double bass)
Children of Bodom (softer double bass... low fast guitars and bass...)
Kittie ( bass drum beats and low guitars)
Rammstien (Techno/dance -esque beats)
Arch Enemy (more cymbols and higher end guitar solos than the aforementioned, but still plenty of double bass action... right now I can catch the guitars fine, but the lower drums don't quite make it, or the stock speakers distort before the bass level is adiquate.)
I'm looking for something cheap... at first I was going to put together a Kicker system, with a KX400 and a comp 10 or 12" sub in a closed box... but thats going to run me upwards of 600$... I can win a bazooka bass tube amplified off ebay for 1/3 of that...
What can you say as to thier quality and how will they work for my purposes... also, what size should I look for... I'm looking to be able to drop this thing in the bottom of my cargo compartment and forget about it... will 10" fit? Or should I stick with an 8" one...
Thanks for your opinions and suggestions,
-Xeno

I know a guy with a 4th gen and two 8" bass tubes that are the absolute loudest things I've ever heard. He even has them mounted right behind the back seats, you can see out the back, and they don't take up well room.

My cousin has two of the 8" self powered tubes in his 86 bmw. He told me that he just installed his new system and he wanted me to hear it. He was comming around the corner and I thought he installed 2 12's. I was impressed. I have definately heard better but for the price and the space issues in a 3rd gen, they are nice.
