Wired my 6x9's out of phase?

Hey guys,
I just removed my Orion Cobalt 150.2 amp from my subs and put it to my 6x9's. The amp did great on the subs, but I try to put on the high pass filter and the high frequencies are almost not even there, its the mids i hear, but no highs. The head unit amp did a better job at highs than this amp. I have the gain up 66 percent on the amp and it sounds crappy, high pass is on at like 110hz, and no bass boost. Is it possible I wired my 6x9's out of phase, or can you only wire subs out of phase. I thought that this could be the case because this sounds like pure crap, and this is orion we are talking about, and pioneer 6x9s. Lemme know so i can toy around wit it tomorrow.

For one it sounds like you have the gain up pretty high. I've never had to turn a gain up that far but you'd be able to tell better since you are the one who hears how it sounds.

I got on Orion's website and couldn't find a set up sheet for that amp to help you with the crossover setting. What do the ***** look like. Should be something to select high pass or low pass so that should be set on high pass and then if there is a **** to select the crossover point it should be turned to the setting you want. It will block out from that point down.

Sounds like your amp's crossover is still in low pass, just like miked said. Most 6X9's roll off sharply around 50Hz, so set the crossover for high pass operation, if possible, and then set the frequency at 50hz. If the amp only has a low pass crossover, just turn it off. Phasing generally won't cause the problems you are describing—unless—you have one speaker wired opposite of the other (ie. left speaker in phase, right out of phase).
