My current setup shuts down most in the area and i don't even push it hard but mycar was totaled this weekend
so in lew of my mis-fortune have decided new car, new system
my new ride will be an 84 berlinetta dressed as a later model Z
all black
new (Planned) system will be:
Rockford 9400 or 9210 possibly 9300 HU
Kicker 4 channel amp
2 Rockford or Kicker mono amps
2 Kicker compvr's
2 sets of 6.5 components
now comes the part i need a lil help on.
Which kicker amps (polecat)
Which 6.5's do you all like/ have
My goal will be good midrange
Versitile low range
Crisp accurate highs
Want opinions people
remember if you don't like one of my choices
don't bash just suggest what u like instead
Wish me luck

From the looks of it you have lots of money to spend!!! Insurance money??? lol
Well anyway here is what ide do:
HU - get an Alpine or Eclipse - aournd $400
Amp for speakers - get a kicker ZX460 (or the newer series 4 channel amp that gives atleast 50 watts per channel)
Components Infinity Perfects (they will kinda be underpowered but thats ok)
The subs are an ok choice - but JL W3 series is something you may wanna test out.
The amp - ide go for a kicker too. Just try to get as close to the rating of the subs. And make it a Class D amp.
Again im just saying things that i would prefer. Let me know what you have in mind in terms of sound and then it would be easier.

Newer mind you stated what you want - Perfect Comps and JL w3 seires subs!!!

well, the kicker amp that im using is the zr-240 to power my sub. All I can say is that its incredible, best one i had so far.
for the 6.5's, I got Polk Audio EX3 components and I'm happy with the sound of them. Try looking into the Infinity kappa perfects if you got money.

just keep in mind that Kicker amps are underrated so if you need just 400rms, look into their KX300.2 and such. As far as spkrs, I don't really know, never used Kicker's Comp. set, but I do LOVE my JL XR653CS's.
