What do you think of this?
This is my system. I have a American Bass 600w RMS amp running two American Pro 12" speakers running at 2 ohms each (speakers are 1000w max, but I think that rating is a little too high). I have a Eclipse 54410 head unit, with Eclipse 4x6's, Boston Acoustic components in the rear hooked up to a Pheonix Gold M25 amp. I went to a SPL competition in august and hit a constant 140.6 Db. I have a 1991 Camaro RS that is Teal. I will get a newer pic up soon, but I have painted my amp rack same color as sub box and cleaned up the wires a little bit since this pic. I was just wondering what everybody thinks of my system.

Yes I did build the box myself. It is 1 cu/ft per speaker. I'll have to find the dimensions for you. I will post that as soon as i get them. Also I did use very short screws to mount the amp box.

Here are the box dimensions. I used 3/4 in. MDF board. the top is 13 1/4 in x 26 in. the sides are 10 3/4in wide X 11 1/4 in the front and 18 1/4 in the back. The inner wall is 9 1/8 in wide X 11 1/4 in in the front and 17 1/4 in in the back. the bottom is 24 1/2 in X 10 3/4in. the front is 24 1/2in wide X 11 1/4in with the top edge angled at about 37.5 degrees. and the back will be 24 1/2in wide X 17 3/4 in. with the top edge angled at 37.5 degrees also. To put it all together start with the bottom and use the sides as end caps, rest the front and back on top of the bottom and also put the inner wall in the center of the bottom. You can only mount the speakers with the magnets outside the box due too the clearance inside. Hope this isn't too technical for you. Email me the pics of the box if you do decide to build it.

No, it does not matter which way you mount the speakers. If you mount them with the magnets outside you will have to reverse the polarity to the speaker ( pos to neg, neg to pos)

i dont like it. its not a bad setup but its definetally not appealing.
i think your intent was good but ended up too flashy. its not smooth. it should look like its supposed to be there and it does not. the sub position is not a problem but the box doesnt look right. i really dont even want to get into what i think about the amp/cap/etc rack.
you should think about changing something up for a better apperance.
good luck,
jacob

i am totally for what you are saying harry. what really matters is what YOU think about it. i was just telling you how i feel since you asked. I am also glad someone else is willing to take some time out of their busy schedule to make something good out of their stereo equipment instead of paying someone else to do it for them. i praise you for that and wish you luck in your persuit to improve on what you have done.
i think the setup has potential and if you'd like i wouldn't mind giving you some ideas to make it alittle more visially appealing. if not then i would still like a follow-up pic when you've done what you are planning.
