What he said. Well what are you laying it on? Are you doing it in the hatch with all the foil? But yeah put another layer on there and test it out. The first layer wont be all that strong but get your second and test it out then. What size box? My box has 3 gallons of resin and two matts + the fleece which acts like a mat. My box IMO is to strong and weighs to much. I dont see why it has to be all that strong so that you can park a car on it. If its a small box they hell yeah go for it make it strong but a big box like mine if you make it that thick the weight is going to cost ya. Right now the box is a good 30LBS then I have to add the top and the speakers + amp. So if you are making one as big as mine I would not use fleece and would only load up two gallons. and two or three matts. Laying matts in my box is a PITA cause of all the wooden beams. Next time I'll do without the beams and the fleece for the customer hatch back for a f Body. Anything else I would use the beams and fleece. This is not my last box either. I'm going to start poping them on ebay when I'm done with mine. Might even sell mine cause I dont think it needs to weigh that much or be that strong.

Well just lay down more mat and glass. If its cold out you might need to use more hardener than the you are soppossed to. Right now I have the heater on mine helping me out. And dont forget cause I would like to know what kinda box you are making.

yeah

it's pretty cold out here for the season. -3 which is like 30~F.
But I did it in a heated garage with a gas mask thingy we had laying around thats like 100000000 years old.
I set the temp at like 21Celcuis in the garage until it hardend.
Here are pics.
As you can see it doesnt go all the way into the well. (doesnt go all the way down to the bottem. Sure the bottem of the box isn't very nice and flat, but who see's that? It rests in there nice and even. I still gotta sand off the top edges so they are all even so I can make the top on Friday.

I added another layer. It is sturdy except for the top edges, (the rim) but thats just 'cause there is no top on it yet.
As long as cant Visually see the subs makes the box flex, it isnt getting any more galss on it... I spend 70 bux canadian already... OUCH. Beter be worth it :P.
HEre are pics so U get the Idea.

Hey I have an idea to get that tin foil off. Just get a power sander and sand it off. I just got an edge grinder and its basting away everything I touch it to. 40 buck at a pawn shop and its well work the $. I just sanded off something like 3 pounds from my box. Its messy as hell. Say post a pic of that old gas mask.

This is the mask. It was my Dad's, Dad's mask (MY grandpa's). He used it when he was fiberglassing a Yaught he was building a long time ago. Had to have been a long time ago like 20-30 years I'm guessing.
