The system got stolen...

The jerks took the HU, amps, cross over, and ripped up the subs, but couldn't get them out.

What kind of % can I expect the insurance to pay me? I lost around 1200 dollars worh of equipment... How much will I get back?

First thing going in: A very good alarm system with pagers and all that crap....

I hate stupid people.

damn that sucks man.

As far as the money, have reciepts of all your purchases and I don't see why you couldn't get all your money back or at least most of it.

Dont know about the coverage on speakers. What I'm going to do with my box and am is put a phat azz lock and some kinda chain on it that you can see. So they know that its not coming out easy, unless you have bolt cuterz. So did they shatter your hatch? Oh another thing I'll have is a little sticker that say " this car is under video surveillance...AND SO ARE YOU!" OH oh and a pic of a little gun so they know what they are getting into when the break that glass!

doubt much $$

my uncle is an insurance agent and he told me to make sure i added every new piece of equipment i get on the policy, because if it isn't on their they don't know that you had it and the company will not compensate. also you have to be able to prove not the purchase price but the (TMV) or true market value of everything. so i wouldn't count on getting back more than couple hundred.

Depends on your insurance comapny and how friendly you are to your agent. Most times your SOL unless you added on a ryder to cover the extra equipment.

As for making the stuff hard to steal, then all the thieves will do is get pissed and wreck everything. That's what happened to me years ago. They ripped up all the seats, broke the dash apart and smashed all the interior panels. Now I make my crap nice and easy for them. I'd rather replace an amp and some speakers then have to replace the entire interior again.

any alarm will work but it has to be a different alarm. people dont care or even look when they hear them things going off. unless it sounds like its coming from their car. you must have it different and so anoying everyone will not only look but call the police cause its so dam loud.

simple 100 alarm with 200db air horns, train style, play a tune, screams of rape, strobe lights and a fog machine in the trunk. There ca be no time that someone can even open to door for a sec, let alone mess around inside for a min or two. air horns inside the cabin so they wont even want to be in there. or just have good insurance and let them get you a new system every so often, make it easy to remove.

and like dude says, the harder you make it the more they will trash your car if they can get in it and mess around for a while.

showing off is the best way to get a radio stolen, braging about your stuff to people at school or a party. 99% chance its cause of either reason.
