How much room is there in the Camaro dash for 4X6's?
I read the article stereo and stuff, it sounds like the problem is mainly with the 'birds. Would I have any problems with my '87 Camaro? The crutchfield catalog says I have the same depth as the birds do( 1 3/4). Some of the speakers I was looking at are 2 3/8 I think... am I going to be seeing any problems if I go with them? Thanks.

Crutchfield spec are pretty accurate. Unless you can get an exchange guarantee I wouldn't buy the larger ones

In 82-89 Camaros, there's a LOT of room in the dash. My boston plate speakers fit with no modification, and not only is the magnet on those huge, but it's offset instead of centered. I doubt that you'll have any problems fitting any 4x6 into your dash.

Well in my 88 iroc i had to space the speakers up a little with rubber mounted washers to get my infinitys to fit. No big deal its just hard working in with the windshield in. I have the infinity reference 4x6
