Why???

Why does my T/A have two speakers in the rear. 1, 4X6 and 1 4". I bought a couple of infiniti 6X9's, and have to cut the hell out of the mount to use it. Just wondoring why.

It was the extended stereo option with a "subwoofer" in the sail panels. At the time it may have been a good factory option, but a decent pair of 6x9 will sound a hundred times better than that factory crap. Good call on replacing them, and a very good call on choosing Inifinity.

Thanks guys, it looks just like the front ones. I just got finished cutting the crap out of them, and haven't installed all of them yet. Just one more. But with the 3-way pioneers up fron, and the 3-way infiniti's out back it should sound really good. It used to have a gain control slider but not no more. If you guys were wondoring, i am running a kenwood pre amp head unit, a couple of clarion amps, and the speakers I mentioned. Thanks again-steve

you should consider changing your front 6x9s to infinities also -- the system always sounds better when you match the speaker brands for front/rear. something to think about anyway
