I just picked up a cd player for a 2000 cavalier. I thought all delco cd players would use the connectors for the 90 & up cars. I upgraded mine to those. Unfortunately this cd player has a 24 pin connector on the back. Dealer wants 70$, anyone install one of these by modifying connector I'm using. I went to Pep Boys and Kragen, they only had the female end. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Where would I get the connector to splice in? I can't find a 24 pin connector to splice in. Do you think I could modify my present connector to work? Thanks for your help.

 

Have you test fit that thing in to your car yet? I didnt notice ifyou said you were trying to put it in a 3rdgen or not, but Cavaliers changed from 1.5 DIN to DDIN in either2000 or 2001. Im pretty sure it was 2000. If thats the case, and it IS going in a 3rdgen, prepare to hack up youre console a bit.......

 

Haven't test fit yet. It's 4" tall vs 3 1/2" for the old one. I'll try it today. I took a chance on it because I only paid 51$ for it.
