Porting box, Blew my sub

Hey.
I blew one of my 1000watt, 500rms Thump subs..
Cause it made a real harsh rattleing/scraping noise.
I took it out and pushed down on it and It sounded liek something was scraping.

>I just have one sub in the box that takes up the entire well.
I just screwed the board over top of the other hole cause its 1 big chamber.

>I scored a 1200watt amp 600RMS at 4Ohm for 150bux at some place that gets bankrupt stuff.
I am thinking it probally can put out that power cause its got 3x 25amp fuses. Whut u guys think? Its the top of the line thump model.

> I used to have a concept cc1002amp (I paid $400 for it, canadian) powering them subs briged at 500rms@2ohm,

> Now I have the thump amp powering just the one subs, 600rms@4ohms, I dont think its stable at 2 ohm briged So I will just stay with a 1 sub setup.

> MAN! 1 sub with the new amp POUNDS MORE THAN 2 subs with the other amp! Beter sq too.

> Ok, how would I go about porting the box? I Got the specs for porting the box they said it should be around 3 cu feet box, And I think that is whut myne is around.
Thanks.
P.S. How much Db for a box that is ported right, I heard 6 or 9?
