help me choose a sub,and wiring configuration

hi,
i was wondering if you guys could reccomend a good sub,i know about type r's,just would like some other options as well,i just bought a 97 z28 camaro, and me and my friend are going to build a fiberglass enclousure where the stealth box would go,leave access to my t-top holes, anyways,i would like a 12" sub, that can handle the power from a pheonix gold 600ti amp, single 4 ohm watts rms is 600x1,or 200x2 @ 40hm,or 300x2 @ 2 ohms,i want the most power to my sub, mostly be playing rap,i was looking at the rockford fosgate punch hx2 12,
another question is,how would i wire this up for maximum punch on dual voice coil subs, and should i get a dual 2 ohm sub,or dual 4 ohm sub, thanks alot,i dont plan on adding anymore subs after this one,but you never know, thanks alot.
phil

to maximize the power output from your amp, get 2 4 ohm dual voice coile subs, then wirte the VCs on each sub in parrallel, giving you a 2ohm load from each sub. The punch subs are lower quality compared to the Alpine subs. They will not produce as many db and will not sound as "clean."
Also, if you plan on using just one, same as above, purchase a sub with 4 ohm coils so you can get the same 2 ohm load and bridge it across your amp for maximum power. For the money, the Alpine is probably the best made. If you want to spend more, there are plenty of great subs. Pheonix Gold, Memphis, Kicker, JL Audio.
