Best 6x9s for about $60 for the pair?

I know $60 wont get me great speakers but car audio isnt really that important to me. I just need something to replace my blown rear speakers. are all speakers pretty much the same quality in this price range? where is the best place to buy these either retail or online?

also what size speakers are in the front on my 90 firebird, 3x5? they are the original car speakers and are starting to crack, those need to be replaced too. what are some good cheap choices for those speakers?

im not planning on getting an amp or subs, just using this sony headunit that came with the car. i think 55w per channel, does that sound about right?

4x6 in front. and yeah, $60 wont get you too much. you could try some infinity reference. look online, that will be your cheapest bet. ebay is a good choice too. cant think of any other online stores off the top of my head

Depending on how much shipping is, that is a good price. ikesound has them for $74 with free shipping.

I just got a pair of Keenwood 3-way 6x9's from electronics express for $59. Haven't installed them yet, though. Too damn cold!

I like the digital audios. Way better than my stock ones that incinerated. And only for 60 bucks from a friend of mine. I got lucky cuz they sent me the wrong ones. They were suppose to be 200 watts each. I got the box and opened it and i was like wtf...

whats digital about them? those look real sweet. i have no plans for getting an amp so those speakers would definetely not be put to full use using just my headunit. where did u order them from, and do they usually make "mistakes" like that?

I would stay away from Jenson. There are many other speakers that will be much better and cost not too much more.

Ikesound:
Blaupunkt PCxt693-$45
Blaupunkt PCxi693-$55
Pioneer TS-A6960R-$59
Pioneer TS-A6965-$67
Pioneer TS-A6970R-$66

All of these are around your price range and would sound pretty good. the only bad things about 6X9s is that they usually only sound OK with the deck powering them. But once you power them, DAMN.

Well, I installed my new 6x9's today...so of course it starts snowing in the middle of the installation. They sound sweet! Currently, they are being powered by the head unit, which is an 180-watt AIWA cd-player. Hopefully, I will be installing my 4x6's tomorrow. Here is the link to the 6x9's:

and here is the link to the 4x6's:

Someday I will get a real system...but this will do for now, until I get the rest of the work done on the car...

For $60, you could score some Kenwood's or Pioneer 6x9's on sale. 4x6's are harder to find and will most likely cost a bit more.

Don't know much about Sony's because I don't believe in their speakers. I do know you will get your money's worth with Kenwood or Pioneer.

i think most big name companies make decent speakers in the $60 range....its all a matter of preference i guess...i like MA Audio and Visonik...they have good speakers for low prices...i think i paid 60 for my Visonik and 50 and change for the MA's
MA Audio's site
Visoniks site
they both have links to sites to buy
