power cable

I was wondering if it was ok to run my cable to the back of my car going under it, I was going to zip tie to my fuel lines going back, is this make sense or would that just be dumb?

it would work, but if you did happen to chafe it and it grounded, that would suck.

You can run your wire under the car, just make sure you protect it. At the bare minuimun I would put some expandable sleeving from www.techflex.com and then cover that in some plastic loom (fire retardant or heat reflective). Go to www.mcmaster.com to get the loom (go here).

Then you can attach it anywhere out of harms way under the car.

The best method for running power wire under the car is to run it through some metal conduit, but that can be a lot more tedious than just tie wrapping it to the frame.

why would you do it outside of the car? its gonna be as much or more work to get it under there out of the way of the exhaust or anything moving. its not that difficult to run it through the interior. couple plastic pieces and you're done

if you do go under, keep it away from the heat. heat creates an impedence rise lowering the amperage your amps sees.
