6 ft^3 box in the hatch

Has anyone ever built a ported box that has two 3 cubic foot chambers and ports in the back of a 3rd gen. I am thinking about making one and I would appreciate any help that you can give me. Thanks.

you're looking at the whole well plus anything else behind the rear seats. like jim said, good luck. i'm debating a ported box, but its only for a single 12", so i'm lookin around 3 cu ft total

Yes, I'm planning on the whole well plus any space on the hump over the gas tank. But, I want it to be facing up into the hatch glass. I think I calculated 6 cubic feet if you use the whole well and then extend the box about 3 inches about the well and then about 10-12" out over the gas tank hump. This is a rough estimate because I didn't take all of the slight slopes of the well into account.

The Plan: Build a frame for the top. About 3-4" deep (thats how tall the side wall would be) and covering the enitre back of the car. So I would have the frame sitting up on the gas tank area and then let the back part of the frame "hang" out over the well area. Then fiberglass the entire bottom of the box. That is expensive but I think I lot easier that cutting MDF to that shape, plus it will save me some box volume. The divider would be a little difficult but I think I could cut something that would divide it and then glass it into place. Then I could just cut one solid peice for the top and cut my holes for my subs and my ports.

What do you think? Has anyone tried this?
