I finally got my JBL and a 4 channel amp! Pics inside!

Well, my JBL 1200.1 finally came in, and I must say, I am quite pleased...I blew the Type-R in about 10 minutes . I went and got a new Type-R ( I love warranties) and turned down the 1200.1 so that it wasnt so pushing so much power, and moved my ground so that I could position the amp where I wanted. Then I also picked up an old Clarion 400x4 for highs. It's supposed to be a pretty good amp. Here are some pics, and let me know what you think!

All I can tell ya bout the clarion is that it is 100 watts per channel and its pretty good size. Anyone got any info on this amp?

If it helps the numbers on that Clarion amp are APX 400.4. Also, I could use 3 of the screw in things that go on the power, ground, and rem things, cuz there missing.

Dude...

PLEASE tell me you're gonna replace that dental floss speaker wire!!!!!

Other than that, I'm glad to hear you're happy.

Just replace that wire. That shinthit is gonna melt through the insullation and burn up your car from getting so hot.

Oh yea.

That amp is OK. As ironic as it sounds, I just hooked up the 2 chnl version of that amp tonight.

My friend's fiance has a 2000 Cav and we threw it in there running two Kicker 12's (and I mean the ORIGINAL Kickers). It pounds!!!

I second and third and forth you replacing that thin wire. Seriously, cable is not where you want to skimp...I am using 4 guage to my BP600.1 amp for power and ground and then 10 guage from the amp to the box terminals and the same in the box. Overkill? Hell ya, but way better than the car fire you are gonna start. Plus, I will never have to upgrade my wires.

i was told to get bigger speaker wire as well from the stereo store as I took that new alpine in cuz it blew as well. he talked me into an Eclipse SW8122...with a pricetag of $369. He gave me a $200 rebate on the Alpine, and a $69 discount on the eclipse, so I only payed and extra hundred...it is single voice coil w/ a 1000w RMS handing, 4 ohm. it doesn't hit TO much harder than the alpine did, but the alpine blew after about 20 min, and the Eclipse is poundin strong, even after turning the amp all the way up on gain and boost. It's quite the sub...i cant wait till I get the second one and run them to 2 ohms...mmmmmm....bass...as for the speaker wire size...is 8 ga to big? i have a ton of it laying around since I just replaced it w/ 4 ga thru the car.
