Where does the 12V source come from

I am needing to know how the 12 v battery source works I think that I might have blown some kind of wire or fuse I heard a pop under the hood at least that is where sounded like it came from when connecting a new cd player I forgot to disconnect the battery.

i would check ur fuse panel, most likely blew a fuse when you exceeded current flow by grounding out the 12 volt wire.

should not be to big of a problem just through in a new one.

i blew a fuse when i dropped a screw driver in the cig. lighter. a few days ago.

try droppping a penny in the cig lighter, its just the right size to lay flat on the bottom, ERRRRR, anyways, check the fuses, I don't know af any inline fuses in the radio system. Unless there has been an aftermarket system before hand the radio may have a fuse in it also, as well as a inline fuse.
