Alpine type r power

My problem is that i have the sony xplod amp and after having it for a while i realized that it sucks. Now my question is what amp/amps would be good to power the subs. They are SWR-1221D and also i was wondering if i have wired them right because they are dual voice coils and have no clue how to wire them, they work but was just curious on what is the right way confused: I was wondering what audiobahn would be good for these two subs?

See i have it

+ -
- + The one positive wire going to the amp and the negative going but i have the positve going back to the other positive and vice versa now is this right or am i retarded?

+1 +2
-1 -2

i connected +2 and -2 together and the +1 went to the amp and -1 went to the amp.

i also have the sony xplod amps. two 760 watts. i have them half way up and it hits extremely hard. granted i know sony sucks and i could use a better amp but the funds dont allow it with my performance upgrades.
