Removal of stock head unit

Hi All,
I know this may sound silly but I am trying to remove the stock head unit out of my 1994 bonneville and can't figure out how to disconnect the wires in the back. When I remove the screws under the trim plate I can only pull the radio out about 1 inch. If I try to get under the dash, there are so many wires I don't know what goes where...

Is there some kinda of trick to remove this or am I missing the obvious...

Thanks......

the wires that go the stock deck, just plug in... are you sure that hte deck does not have a mounting bracket screwed to the back of it, many times stock decks do in alot of cars hope this helps
